Keeping with its philosophy of never being too far from its customers and to support them better, DRI now has its own office in the USA, Desiccant Rotors International Inc. in Virginia and is aggressively expanding its network.

History
Desiccant Rotors International (DRI), a div. of Arctic India Engineering, entered the US market in 1997 with their range of Enthalpy and Desiccant Rotors. DRI was the first & the only Indian company to participate in the AHR Expo, USA showcasing its range of Enthalpy and Desiccant Rotors at AHR'97 (ASHRAE).
DRI has been achieving 100% success rate in Air-to-Air Energy Recovery Ventilators Performance Certification Program of AHRI (Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute, USA) certification programme year after year from 2002 onwards.

DRI has set its testing facility / R&D Lab for performance evaluation of Energy Wheels, in association with Intertek Testing Services, Cortland (Intertek Associates with ARI for the ARI 1060 Programme) in the year 2004.
Ecodry Lab has helped DRI to test and produce rotors capable of delivering extremely low Dew Point for specialized applications like lithium battery rooms. DRI also provides desiccant rotors for commercial fresh air treatment systems.
Mr. Deepak Pahwa, Managing Director, Desiccant Rotors International was elevated as Fellow - ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) in the year 2005. Bry-Air (Asia), the group company of DRI was felicitated with appreciation award for Excellence in the field of HVAC&R by ISHRAE, Ahmedabad Chapter and ASHRAE Western India Chapter at COMFEX 2005, India.
DRI's "EcoFresh" Heat Recovery Wheel was awarded with the prestigious 'PHD Brand Equity Award 2006' . DRI's EcoFresh Heat Wheels are the only wheels in the world which are both ARI as well as Eurovent certified.

Eurovent certification is a voluntary initiative of the European HVAC industry to make it easier for planners, contractors and end-users to choose the right products and equipment for the application at hand. Certification procedures are based on precisely defined rules and regulations and the test results provide greater transparency for customers, who can choose products on the basis of independent tests and fully reliable data. The customer gets exactly what he expects.
The purpose of Eurovent is:

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is the trade association representing manufacturers of air conditioning, heating and commercial refrigeration equipment. AHRI’s 300+ member companies account for more than 90 percent of the residential and commercial air conditioning, space heating, water heating, and commercial refrigeration equipment manufactured and sold in North America.
Apart from the above recognition DRI has also been recognized by EEPC (Engineering Export Promotion Council) for its “Outstanding contribution to Engineering Exports” and awarded the “Star Performer” for the year 2005-2006 as well as the Highest Exporter Award in Thrust Markets for 2004-2005 in Northern Region. PHDCCI awarded DRI for creating a highly successful Indian Brand ‘EcoFresh’ in the international market.
Mr. Deepak Pahwa is the Chairman and Managing Director of Desiccant Rotors International.
Mr. Pahwa was awarded, in 1989, the “Entrepreneur of the year award” in the small medium enterprise entrepreneur category 1987, a national award presented by the then President of India.
He has presented several technical papers on various aspects of Air Engineering at various international forums and has been a member of several trade delegations to USA, Canada, Korea & Japan and has addressed gathering on the investment climate and 'doing business with India'.
Mr. Pahwa is a alumni of an Electrical Engineer from BHU. He has over 30 years of experience in engineering & marketing of HVAC&R, Airgineering & Environmental Control Technologies.
Mr. Pahwa, is also, a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Airconditioning Engineers) USA and serves on several technical committees, TC 3.5, TC 5.5 and TC 5.7. Mr. Pahwa has been recently elevated to grade “Fellow ASHRAE”. Since its inception, ASHRAE has honored about 525 of its 55,000 (current) members, worldwide, as “Fellow” (currently, about 250 of the 525 are living). In India, six (6) HVAC&R stalwarts have been honored as “Fellow”, Mr. Pahwa being one of them. He also, chairs the ASHRAE India Chapter’s Research Promotion Committee, and is the co-chairman of the TC 4.3: Ventilation Requirements & Infiltration in India. He is a life member ISHRAE.
Mr. Pahwa is also a Managing Committee Member, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Past National President, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
